Suspect Richard Allen faces two counts of murder. Early April his defense attorneys filed an emergency motion to move Allen to another County facility. Referring to their client as being treated like a “prisoner of war.” His attorneys state in the motion that their client needs to be moved due to concerns about his deteriorating physical and mental state.
Judge Fran Gull ruled Richard Allen can be moved to a new facility.
Richard Allen’s attorney described his condition as “suffering from various psychotic symptoms.” Allen’s attorneys said his client appears to be “schizophrenic and delusional.” The attorney claims Allen is suffering from memory loss and the inability to communicate rationally.
Richard Allen is scheduled June 15, 2023, for a bond hearing.
