I am a retired airline pilot and author. My work has appeared in regional and national publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Multimedia Producer, and Professional Pilot magazine. I have appeared as an aviation expert on the show Studio B with Shepard Smith and in the MSNBC documentary Why Planes Crash: Brace for Impact.
I am the author of the bestselling book 35 Miles From Shore: The Ditching and Rescue of ALM Flight 980, which tells the true story of an airline ditching in the Caribbean Sea and the efforts to rescue those who survived.
My second book, Scapegoat: A Flight Crew’s Journey from Heroes to Villains to Redemption tells the true story of an airline crew wrongly blamed for causing a near-fatal accident and the captain’s decades-long battle to clear his name.
I am a graduate of St. Louis University Parks College of Aviation. I reside in Dallas, Texas, along with my wife Lynn.
My upcoming book follows the arrest and conviction of airline pilot Kit Martin for the murders of three neighbors and challenges the integrity of the conviction, raising crucial questions about justice and the lengths taken to secure a guilty verdict.
