Monique Faison Ross was born in San Francisco and grew up as an only child
in San Diego. She was raised primarily by her mom, Barbara, an industrial engineer. Her father, William Earl (Earle) Faison, was a four-time all-star defensive end for the San Diego Chargers.

She became an “accidental author” when a group of friends convinced her that she had to tell her story. Her writings have appeared in Lilith Magazine and other publications.
