Welcome to my Wildblue Press Author Page!

My name is Mark Anzalone, and I’m the author of Book One of the Shepherd of Wolves trilogy: The Family Man.

I’ve been a huge fan of horror since I was a kid—from books and comics to movies and TV. I’ve been writing and drawing horror from a young age as well. I’ve always had a few notebooks and a sketchbook on me, constantly jotting down story ideas, drawing new monsters, and formulating new RPG gaming mechanics and campaigns. Over the decades, this has led to bookshelves overflowing with books from my favorite authors, sketchbooks of all kinds of monsters and characters, and notebooks full of fiction, art, and RPG gaming systems based on the worlds, mythologies, histories and races I’ve created.

I finally undertook the daunting task of coalescing some of my work into a cohesive world and narrative in 2015, when I co-founded Maeltopia LLC with my brother Steven. Deciding to focus specifically on the horror universe named Maeltopia, we started a web serial called The Family Man. At the same time, we wrote many short stories and mythos pieces on various characters, settings and artifacts found in Maeltopia, along with a sister web serial to The Family Man called The Red Mother.

Most recently, we’re busy finishing The Shepherd of Wolves trilogy and growing The Shepherd of Wolves podcast—a collection of narrations of our work. We’re also in the process of writing a graphic novel based on The Family Man, finishing development on a tabletop game called The Shepherd of Wolves, and many other projects that involve the world of Maeltopia.

With a lifetime of experience in the horror genre and its many subgenres, it’s been a dream of mine to organize my work into various mediums that I can share with the world. I hope you’ll join me on this wonderfully dark adventure, and thank you very much for reading!
